Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving I have so many things to be thankful for.

My brother's wife (Kristen) and their little boy (McKay) were involved in an accident. Other than I few scrapes and bruises they are both fine. It happened south of the house. Kristen had just dropped off Wyatt and the baby at my mom's house... which was a huge blessing in itself. They were on their way to McKay's Preschool Thanksgiving dinner when the truck began to slide and rolled. I'm so thankful they were in the truck instead of the car.

When the truck rolled Kristen's purse went flying everywhere, they both ended hanging upside down... "some how" Kristen's cell phone landed by her feet and she was able to reach it and call 911. When Kristen got them both unbuckled and tried to get them out she was not able to because the doors were jammed and she couldn't get them opened. She tried the windows but they also didn't work. Cars kept driving past... no on stopped to help... they probably thought no one was in the truck. I think a few silent prayers were said. When Kristen tried the passenger window again , she was able to open it. About this time the first response unit was there. Which is another blessing because it was a familiar face... Kip Davies. And from there it snowballed with family and friends showing up to see what they could do to help. It is such a HUGE blessing to have such wonderful neighbors, friends, and family!

When I talked to McKay later about what happened... all he said was , "I was scared". I think a few tear were shed. We are so happy that both of them were not hurt. They most definitely had angles watching over them. The truck on the other hand (which is not important) is a different story. Now they will be getting that MNIVAN a lot quicker. :)

Thanksgiving with my Sweet Nieces

Thanksgiving I spent in Seattle with the Hilton's. Thanks to my fabulous brother-in-law who bought my ticket. Thanks Brad! You're the best!

We had so much fun! My sister spoiled me to the point of me being rotten. (j/k) I took my camera which I didn't take as many pictures as normal... I think the Hilton's were relieved. :)

Here are some of the highlights:

Josie with her card from Aunt Kerry

Josie opening card and finding....

$100 dollars in $5 dollars bills.

Look how beautiful her nails are now. Who says bribing doesn't work? :) Josie and I made a deal if she could go to Thanksgiving without biting her nails and taking very good care of them. I would give her $100. She did a great job! They look SOOOO much better. However there was a little "disclaimer note" that Josie didn't know about until she opened her card. Every time (for the next year) her parents catch her biting her nails or putting them in her mouth... Josie has to pay them $5. We'll see if she still has the $100 next year. :)

I made a deal with Hallie along the same lines except hers was - she would get $100 if the next time she goes to the dentist she doesn't have any cavities. When she saw Josie's cash.... she asked her mom , "When can I go to the dentist".

This was the first time that I got to meet Sadie in person. She is so sweet!

Everyday Jan, Sadie, and I walked Hallie down to the bus stop.

Sadie and Hallie watching for the bus.

When Hallie would walk down the steps Sadie would go nuts. It was so cute to watch.

Hallie getting on the bus

We even found time to get together with the "girls" for lunch. My sister friends are the best! They had me laughing until I couldn't stop.

Brad & Josie decided to have a little fun... Hilton style (which is anything that has two wheels and goes extremely fast)
