Riley's 8th Birthday

I can't believe that it has been a little over seven years ago that I packed my bags and headed for Arizona. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Riley was just about to celebrate his first birthday... and my heart was breaking thinking about all the birthdays and family events that I was going to miss. It's turned out to be one of the best things I have done. I still miss my family and wish I was closer to enjoy everyone. I'm so thankful for the modern-day world that we live in... where I can hear their voices, see their sweet faces, and jump on a plane and be home in a couple of hours to hug them. Someday I hope to move back home. Hopefully it will be before everyone grows up and moves away. :)

8 Things I love about Riley:

1. I love his name! He was named after my dad (John), my Grandpa Judy (John), and my Grandpa Westergard (Riley). Three of the greatest men... in my opinion.

2. His personality! Riley has some great one-liners. He is always making people laugh. He loves to be around people. He thinks the more friends/family you have- is all the better!

3. His kindness! Riley has the biggest heart. He is always concerned about others and wants to make them happy.

4. His Helpfulness! Riley is such a wonderful helper- especially with his three younger brothers.

5. His curiosity! I love his zeal for life. He is continually wanting to learn and understand why.

6. His enthusiasm for sports! Riley loves sports and is participating in about everything possible.

7. His Smile! Riley's smile is so contagious. You can't help but smile when you are around him.

8. His Family! Riley is blessed with a wonderful family who loves him. His parents are such wonderful examples and have done an outstanding job raising him so far. :) He has three little brothers who thinks he ROCKS! And finally, but certainly not least, he has an Aunt Kerry that loves him more than words can convey.

Happy Birthday Riley!!!!
