Back To School

All the kids were excited to get back into the swing of everything. It always amazes me how fast time seems to slip by. Here's their first day of school pictures for 2009. They are growing up way too fast!

The South Jordan (Utah) Girls

Kourtney smiling as she leaves for school. She is in 8Th grade.

Ashley - is in 5Th grade. I get so confused with her schedule. Not certain I like year round school.

Grace- 1st day of Preschool.

The Iona (Idaho) Boys

This is the first year that they will be in the "Bonneville" boundaries. Their daddy is jumping for joy. Their mommy... not so much. She is still a "Hillcrest Knight." We love her despite her allegiance. :)

Riley- 3rd grade

Carson- 1st grade

"Buddies"

Wyatt wishing he was old enough to go with his brothers.

McKay is also in Preschool. I'm waiting for his "school" picture. Kristen's friend took them.

This is how Wyatt entertains himself while his brothers are at school.

The Lake Stevens (WA) Sisters

Josie- is in the 6Th grade and already knows more than her Aunt Kerry. Sorry the picture is so dark but Josie leaves way before the sun comes up... Bummer!

Hallie- is in the 3rd grade .

Camping for the Hiltons

Last weekend my sis and her family went camping. They had a really fun time! Thanks to Josie... I have pictures!!!! I know- I'm such a pain but I love to see what the kids are doing. :)

Riley's 1st Year in 4H

Riley did such an awesome job!!! He took 5Th place with his lamb. He had two animals- a pig and a lamb. He made some good $$$ for his future mission and college. After I found out how much money Riley made (a small fortune). I called my mom to find out WHY Jon and I never did 4H. We really couldn't come up with a good explanation. Here are some of Riley's awards:

Later, Kristen called to tell me how Riley did. She said that he (Riley) took after Jon and I. At first, I didn't understand... until she told me that Riley was extremely sad when they came to get his lamb. It was all fun- teaching and working with it, grooming, showing, and making the MONEY. But when they fair was over and they came to pick up "his" lamb (which he sold).... did he finally ask the BIG QUESTION... "What is going to happen to my lamb?" Let me just say, Riley is the most tender-hearted kid I know. So when Riley asked his mom and dad what was going to happen to his lamb... he got answers he didn't want to hear! He started to cry. He told his mom that he would give the money back or he would buy his lamb back with all the money he just earned. Doesn't that tear at your heart? All I can say... it was a good thing that Aunt Kerry wasn't there... I might have been "several" hundred dollars poorer. :) It was THEN, that I realized "WHY" I never was involved in 4H growing up. :)

We are not 100% certain what happened to Riley's lamb after he said his final good-bye to it. We are hoping that it is enjoying life on a nice green pasture somewhere. :) I think Riley's overall experience was good. He's excited to do it again next year.

Lora's 60th Birthday

I can't believe that Lora is 60! She celebrated at the beach in CA. I was sad I couldn't be there for her BIG 60Th. I know... doesn't she look awesome for 60!?! I can only hope I look that good.

I thought I would make her a super cute cake and plan a fun day for her. Have you ever had a day when everything you did turned out WRONG!!!! That was my day today. It started with the cake and went south from there. As hard as I tried, the worst things got. I can't tell you how frustrated I was. I know...people say it's the thought that counts. REALLY? Is it only the thought???? And isn't that what people say when something you did wasn't great and they are trying to make you feel better? :)

I tried... they didn't turn out as cute as I would have liked but I guess they could have been worse. Here's the cake.

And here's the cupcakes I made for her work.

I liked the cupcake better than the cake.

Shopping

The other day, I got the best deals at Albertson's. I love when I spend only $39.00 and I save $120. It's the BEST feeling EVER!!!! My friend Janet (she works at my office) told me about a few websites where you can get coupons. Mind you, I'm so not into clipping coupons.... however, I might start now. :) I was going to take a picture of ALL the items I bought but I forgot until I put half of my things away... here's a picture of a few items I got. Notice how thrilled Sophie is. :)

I got 44 items for less than $40.00. That makes them less than $1 each. Amazing!!! I had to go back and get a few more items.

Here's the links Janet gave me if you are interested:

Piano

I can almost scratch one of my things off my "Bucket List". I have been searching for several months for a piano. I finally found one that I liked and could afford. The only thing left... is to learn how to play. :) Which if you know me at all... you KNOW that I'm not musically inclined. Wish me luck!!!

I got it on Craig's List for $300. I thought it was a great deal.
